My name is Susan Smith and I live in East London, a small city in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

My mother tongue is Afrikaans and I earn my bread and butter with my language, being a professor in Afrikaans at the University of Fort Hare and running the Afrikaans department.

I love poetry and am a published poet.  In my spare time I paint and only recently started photography. I own a small Lumix Panasonic and do not know much about photoshopping and editing of photo’s. For the rest I use my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone and love it!

Therefore, what you see on these pages is what I have caught – fresh off the camera.
